Becky Schultz has been involved with New Horizons for Children since 2008, bringing both extensive professional leadership experience and a deeply personal commitment to vulnerable children. She and her husband have hosted children through NHFC many times, and their family has also grown through international adoption. These experiences have given Becky a firsthand understanding of the opportunities and challenges involved in caring for children who have experienced loss and significant life transitions.
Professionally, Becky is an engineer, entrepreneur, and CEO and co-founder of Compass Technology Group, an engineering research and development company based in Alpharetta, Georgia. She co-founded the company in 2011 and has served as CEO since 2015, helping grow CTG into a team of more than 45 people working in engineering research, software development, and equipment manufacturing. The company develops advanced radio frequency materials measurement and non-destructive evaluation technologies used in aerospace, defense, research, and other industries.
Before founding Compass Technology Group, Becky served for ten years as a U.S. Air Force officer and research engineer at Armstrong Laboratory. Her work included leading research related to aircraft crew safety, physiological response, survivability, and the testing and measurement of materials and equipment. Becky holds a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and an MBA. She brings to the NHFC Board a combination of analytical thinking, business leadership, organizational development, and nearly two decades of firsthand involvement with NHFC’s mission.
Becky believes strong organizations and committed families can create lasting opportunities for vulnerable children to experience safety, belonging, and hope.
